Let the mixture sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to allow the strawberries to release their juices.


    Blend the Mixture: After the strawberries have macerated, transfer them to a blender or food processor. Pulse the mixture until it becomes a smooth puree. If you prefer some texture, you can pulse it less for a chunkier consistency.


    Prepare the Ice Cream Base: In a separate large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Mix until the sugar is completely dissolved and the ingredients are well combined.


    Combine the Puree with the Base: Pour the strawberry puree into the ice cream base mixture. Gently fold the puree into the base until it is fully incorporated. Be careful not to overmix to maintain the vibrant color and flavor of the strawberries.


    Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or until it is thoroughly chilled. This step is crucial for ensuring a creamy texture when churning the ice cream.
